Studies on benthic ecology in coastal waters of bohai and yellow seas

2000
The distribution of benthic biomass and biodensity, composition of species and community structure are studied in coastal waters of the Bohai and Yellow Seas. A total of 239 species of benthos are indentified and most of them are crustacean and mollusca (51.9%). The average benthic biomass is 56.54% g/m~2 and most of them are echinoderm (41.6%) and the individual density is 264.3 d/m~2. Benthos in this area can be classified into seven types by ecological character. According to the index of community structure, half of the area has high diversity index (H^), richness index (d), eveness index (J) and low dominance index (D_2).
