APPLICATIONS OF LIQUID HYDROGEN IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

1966
A new and very promising field for cryogenics appears to be its application in the production and trans formation of electricity. Two different techniques, i.e. superconductors and high-purity metals, are competing with each other. In the present state of technique the possibilities of high-purity metals appear to promise quicker progress in the development of high-duty machines and in this connection the association of refined aluminium with liquid hydrogen seems to be of special interest.
