Koguryo, by accepting various foreign cultures on the basis of its own original culture, created its typical, unique music and musical instruments. The international features of Koguryo culture are distinctly shown in the fields of music. Especially, with the wall paintings of ancient Koguryo tombs, we can understand a lot of things about music and musical instruments. (1) The first of the ancient Korean nations to achieve prosperity was Koguryo. The music of Koguryo is represented by the string instrument Geomungo. Through archaeomusicological study, I insisted that Geomungo is "re-made" from seven-stringed Wagonghu. (2) Dango has been believed that it is a silimilar to Daego, but through comparison study with Tonggu in China, I am recognized that Koguryo's Dango maybe made from bronze. (3) Many scholars agree that many music of Koguryo provably has sang-mode. And I founded a musical piece(Gaolige) has sang-mode about Koguryo in Liaoning Guchuiyue, so I also agree with that opinian. Due to the limited amount of material and the restrictions faced in carrying out the research, the completion of this project will have to be put off to a later date.
