EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES ON THE THERMAL CHARACTERISTICS OF RECTANGULAR OFFSET FIN

On the basis of experimental data this paper analyzes the flow friction and heat transfer characteristics of four different height rectangular-offset fins. Compared with the same type of fins abroad the differences of this kind of heat transfer surfaces home are indicated. From the analysis the results of the empirical correlations for heat transfer and flow friction characteristics of the four sizes of rectangular -offset fins will be suitable for structural optimal designing of compact high efficiency heat exchangers.
