INFLUENCE OF BA2+ IONS ON THE PROPERTIES OF PORTLAND CEMENT AND PORTLAND CEMENT WITH ADMIXTURES. PROCEEDINGS - SYMPOSIUM ON RESEARCH ON THE USE OF MODERN ACHIEVEMENTS IN YUGOSLAV CIVIL ENGINEERING IN THE FIELD OF MATERIALS AND STRUCTURES. VOLUME 1, 2, 3 AND 4

1986
The paper presents the results of tests carried out to study the influence of different concentrations of ba2+ ions on the physical and mechanical properties of portland cement and portland cement with admixtures such as blast furnace slag, silica fume and pozzolan. It has been established that ba2+ ions in concentrations even less than 0.1% increase the compressive strength of tested cements with admixtures up to 20%. It also presents a possible explanation for such results. (TRRL)
