Sunlight-assisted side-edge type backlight module and liquid crystal display

A sunlight-assisted side-edge type backlight module, at least comprising: a side-edge type backlight source (4); a light guide plate (6) provided with a light incident surface and a light-emitting surface, the side of the light incident surface directly facing the side-edge type backlight source (4); an optical film group (7) located above the light guide plate (6) and directly facing the light-emitting surface of the light guide plate (6); and an auxiliary light source device (8) used for transmitting the acquired sunlight to the light incident surface of the light guide plate (6). Also disclosed is a liquid crystal display adopting the above-mentioned sunlight-assisted side-edge type backlight module. Adopting sunlight as an auxiliary light source enables the side-edge type backlight module and the liquid crystal display to be more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly.
