Experimental investigation of the interaction of K(5P or 3D) with He

The absorption profiles of the far wings of potassium 4S to 3D and 4S to 5P lines are experimentally investigated. From the analysis of these profiles the authors obtain information about the excited-state potentials. The results are compared with both calculated pseudo-potentials and model potentials.
