Treatmen of massive gatrointestinal bleeding in anaphilactoid purpura (Henoch-Schonlein)(HSP) with recombinant factor VIIa (rFVIIa)
2005
Treatment of HSP is not necessary as the disease is self-limited.We presented two boys, 8 and 12 years of age, respectively with acute massive gastrointestinal bleeding as one of the most serious complications of HSP. In both boys we administrated high dose of rFVIIa 100mcg/kg w, and it eas followed by no more beeding episodes in one of the boys in whom abdominal pain completely dissapeared, while the other one needed to receive it once more.
