Treatment efficacy of sodium ferulate and its effect on urine aquaporin-2 in patients with nephritic syndrome

2008
Objective To investigate the treatment efficacy of sodium ferulate and its effect on urine aquaporin-2 level in patients with primary nephrotic syndrome. Methods 43 patients with nephrotic syndrome were divided into two groups randomly, the test group and the control group.Patients in test group were treated with routine medication along with sodium ferulate, and those in control group were treated with routine medication.AQP2 and protein in urine of 24 hours, albumin in blood and kidney function before treatment were compared with those after treatment. Results The treatment efficacy of the test group was better than those of the control group(P0.05).Conclution Sodium ferulate has obvious efficacy in the treatment of nephrotic syndrome by decreasing urine protein, improving patients' kidney function, decreasing the express of AQP2 in kidney and alleviating water retention.
