Objective: this article aims to illustrate a case of sialolithiasis in the submandibular gland. Sialolithiasis is among the most common diseases of salivary glands. It is a slow-growing benign pathology, but of uncertain etiology. Most cases occur in the submandibular gland duct, due to the route of Wharton’s duct, which is winding and ascending, with easier deposition of calcium salts and consequent stone formation, besides the greater amount of proteins secreted by the submandibular gland, which makes secretion thicker.
