The Quality of Moral and Civic Education in Macao:An Analysis of a City-wide Program Evaluation

Using the educational objectives stipulated in "Outline of Non-Higher Education System" as evaluation criteria and based on questionnaire surveys in schools,student assessments and classroom observations,this study finds that schools in Macao have achieved a certain degree of success in moral and civic education.The features of moral and civic education in those schools are as follows.Moral education is more successful than civic education;Moral education emphasizes more on the development of "personal awareness and morality" than that of "public awareness or morality".
