L’inclusione scolastica degli alunni con background migratorio nell’emergenza sanitaria covid-19: una battuta d’arresto?

2020
Since the end of February 2020 covid-19 pandemics has provoked a state of exception all over the world. The adoption of massive measures for the containment of the infections is having a strong impact in all the societal sectors, including school closures. School closures have led to the restructuring of teaching and learning in the mode of digital distance education. The contribution presents the Italian government policies and their implementation in practice by focusing on students with a migrant background. Educational poverty, the lack of devices and broadband connections, the inappropriateness of the home spaces, the linguistic and technical difficulties have enhanced and can likely reinforce the inequality of the educational opportunities and the social distances, already determined by the starting socio-cultural differences. Despite the risk of a setback in the policy of social inclusion, the contribution will underline the lack of empirical knowledge that analyses the situated condition of students with a migrant background: an absence that could slow down the refinement of the educational policies towards this student target.
