Experimental Study on Power Frequency Discharge of SF 6 Mixture in Non-Uniform Electric Field

SF 6 gas mixture is widely used in high-voltage electrical equipment, but there is rarely comparative study on different types of SF 6 gas mixture, and it is difficult to evaluate the operating conditions of different types of SF 6 gas mixture. In this paper, the power frequency discharge tests of SF 6 /CF 4 and SF 6 /N 2 mixtures under non-uniform electric field are carried out. The ball-plate electrode is used to simulate the electric field distribution under normal operation, and the needle-plate electrode is used to simulate the electric field distribution when the equipment is defective. The partial discharge characteristics and breakdown characteristics of the two mixtures are obtained. The research results are of certain reference significance for the practical application of SF 6 gas mixture.
