Effect of debrisoquine oxidation status on ethinylestradiol pharmacokinetics in normal healthy female volunteers

1986
1. Plasma levels of ethinylestradiol (EE) were studied in normal healthy females, who were either fast, intermediate or slow oxidizers of debrisoquine. 2. No statistically significant correlation was found between Area Under Curve (AUC) and maximum levels (CMax) of EE in different oxidation phenotypes. 3. It is concluded that slow oxidizers are not at greater risk of concentration-dependent toxicity of EE.
