Cardial vagotomy in the treatment of pyloroduodenal ulcer

1994
: The results of infracardial vagotomy conduction in 26 patients with pyloroduodenal zone ulcer are adduced. While vagotomy performance the gastroesophageal zone remains intact, gastric secretion is effectively reduced due to denervation of corpus and fundus containing parietal cells and antrum as a main gastrin source. No delay of gastric motor-evacuating function occur. The authors recommend to conduct the proposed vagotomy procedure in patients with obesity and in case of complications occurring at the time of procedure performance in cardioesophageal region.
