Método de captura e mitigação para a mais importante praga da bananeira no mundo, o Cosmopolites sordidus e do Metamasius hemipterus

Brazil is one of the largest producers of organic bananas in the world. However, the Brazilianbanana yield is considered low. Important responsible for this are insects, especially the weevilborer (Cosmopolites sordidus) and ‘Broca Rajada’ (Metamasius hemipterus), which in the larvalphase burrow the rhizome and the pseudostem of the plants, compromising the productionthe same. The objective of this work was to verify the presence of ‘Queijo’, ‘Telha’ and ‘Pseudocaulena Touceira’ baits, which would present the best capture of these two coleobrocasin the ‘BRS Princesa’ apple type banana State of Rio de Janeiro, aiming at adopting the bestmethod to capture adult insects when the population reaches the level of ecological and economicdamage. The results showed the effectiveness of the ‘Pseudocaule na Touceira’ baitcompared to the other ‘Queijo’ and ‘Telha’ baits, in order to collect and mitigate the occurrenceof these insects if it was adopted by the banana farmer in agroecological system.
