Development of TINA-Like Systems: The DOLEMEN Methodology

1998
In the DOLMEN project, a methodology for service development on distributed systems has been established. The methodology emphasises the specification, validation, implementation, and testing stages, starting from the OSAM Component Model and targeting to a CORBA platform. Guidelines are provided for object specification and implementation, with the introduction of a ‘capsule structure’ that enables multiple instantiations of the same object. The utilisation of SDL allows behaviour validation and generation of ‘cases’ for implementation testing. This methodology has been applied in the development of TINA Session Models, with the mobility extensions defined by DOLMEN. The paper presents a concrete example regarding the Access Session.
