Organic Semiconductor Gas Sensors

1992
The electrical properties of semiconductors are drastically altered by the presence of small quantities of impurities. This phenomenon is well-known for impurities introduced into the bulk of semiconductors (doping) and has found wide application. Impurities present at the surface by adsorption of gases from the ambient can also considerably affect the semiconductivity. This is of growing technical interest as it may offer opportunities for the detection of gases.
