Kajian Awal Dialek Melayu Jugra Varian Bandar: A Pilot Study on Malay Jugra Dialect of Bandar Variants

Makalah ini membicarakan salah satu varian Dialek Melayu Jugra (DMJ) yang terdapat di Jugra, iaitu Varian Bandar (VBNDR). Objektif makalah ini adalah menilai dan menyusun semula aspek-aspek fonologi yang masih belum mendapat penjelasan terhadap beberapa kajian tentang DMJ VBNDR terutamanya dalam menentukan jumlah inventori fonem. Justeru, makalah ini bertujuan memberi tumpuan kepada aspek fonetik dan fonologi dengan cara mendeskripsikan sistem fonologi VDMJ BNDR dengan memaparkan penyebaran bunyi vokal, diftong, konsonan dan mengindentifikasikan keberadaan alternasi dalam DMJ VBNDR. Pendekatan yang dimanfaatkan dalam mencapai objektif kajian ini ialah pendekatan struktural. Dapatan yang dilaporkan dalam makalah ini adalah DMJ VBNDR mempunyai enam fonem vokal /i, u, e, o, «, a/, memiliki dua diftong, iaitu /-aw, -aj/ dan 19 fonem konsonan yang terdiri daripada tujuh konsonan letupan /p, b, t, d, k, g, //, dua konsonan letusan /tS, dZ/, dua konsonan geseran /s, h/, empat konsonan nasal /m, n, o, N/ satu konsonan getaran /r/, satu konsonan sisian /l/ dan dua konsonan separuh vokal /w, j/. Selain mengemukakan penerangan bagi DMJ VBNDR secara khusus, makalah ini memperluaskan korpus ilmu tentang DMJ secara umum. ABSTRACT This paper discusses one of the Malay Jugra Dialect variants (DMJ) found in Jugra, Varian Bandar (VBNDR). The objective of this article is to evaluate and reorganize aspects of phonology which has yet to get clarification on a number of studies on DMJ VBNDR especially in determining the amount of phoneme inventory. Therefore, this article aims to focus on the aspects of phonetics and phonology to describe the phonological system of VM MKH that displays spread of vowel, diphthong, consonant and identify the presence of alternation in this DMJ VBNDR. The objectives of this article is achieved through the application of structural approach. The findings reported in this article is that the DMJ VBNDR has 6 vowel phonemes, namely /i, u, e, o, «, a /, have two diphthongs, /-aw, -aj/ and 19 consonant phonemes which consist of seven explosive consonants / p, b, t, d, k, g, //, two africate consonants / tS, dZ/, two fricative consonants /s, h/, four nasal consonants / m, n, o, N/, a vibration consonant / r /, a lateral consonant / l / and two semi-vowel consonants / w, j /,  Besides explaination on the DMJ VBNDR in specific, this article expands the corpus knowledge on DMJ in general.
