Spectral variations in a bioinspired random laser

Spectral changes., attributed to the surface roughness of the scattering substrate., are reported in a bioinspired random laser. The variation in lasing peak wavelength at two typical surface roughness values of the scattering substrate indicates a favorable random laser system implementation for mode-tunability.
