OPTIMAL USE OF DEMAND RESPONSE POTENTIALS IN MEDIUM-SIZED INDUSTRY USING DYNAMIC ELECTRICITY TARIFFS

Stimulating industrial customers to shift a part of their electrical load by offering dynamic tariffs could help to synchronize electric load and generation in a system with a rising share of fluctuating generation. This paper describes the requirements for the identification of suitable customer processes as well as an appropriate structure of dynamic tariffs. Furthermore it gives an example of possible savings using this demand response program for an industrial process realised within the research project “Happy Power Hour”.
