The Holomorphic Embedding Method to Calculate Continuation Power Flow

2020
Different with Newton iteration method, the holomorphic embedding method is proposed to calculate continuation power flow in this paper. This method avoids the multiple calculations of the Jacobian matrix or the prediction-correction calculations in Newton iteration method. And in this paper, the embedding parameter of holomorphic embedding method is designed to be the load factor in CPF calculation by performing specific embedding methods for PQ, PV and slack bus respectively. Then the complete holomorphic embedding algorithm for continuation power flow calculation can be formed. The relationship between voltage and load factor turns out to be a non-linear function by performing holomophic embedding method, and the PV curve(nose curve) can be drawn. The results of this method are compared with those of the traditional Newton iterative power flow algorithm in terms of error analysis and the calculation speed to display the advantages of holomophic embedding method.
