Functional identity of anaphylatoxin preparations obtained from different species and by different activation procedures. II. Immunological identity

1971
Anaphylatoxin (AT) preparations were made from sera of hog, guinea pig, rat, mouse and man activated by contact with yeast. In addition, AT was prepared from hog serum after incubation with the AT forming cobra enzyme. Antibody against AT was produced in rabbits after injection of yeast activated hog AT and purified by immunoprecipitation. This antibody showed no differences in the double diffusion pattern of the AT preparations mentioned above. Therefore, it is concluded that all AT preparations are immunologically identical independent of the species from which they have been obtained.
