1994
Syn-magmatic structures of the Ansignan charnockite show that its emplacement occurred during an extensional tectonic event which can be estimated at around 316 Ma. This together with the relationships between the granite and its surrounding migmatites further imply that anatexis of the lower gneissic unit also occurred during extension. The emplacement of the St.-Arnac granite appears to post-date this crustal thinning event
