Diagnostics method of mass air flow sensors on automobile, and device for its implementation

FIELD: measurement equipment. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used at diagnostics of mass air flow sensors (MAFS) on automobiles equipped with microprocessor control system of internal combustion engine (ICE). Diagnostics method of MAFS of automobiles consists in monitoring of technical state of mass air flow sensor at simultaneous installation of reference and tested sensors, successive supply of air flow through sensors, change of flow velocity by means of a throttle gate, and obtaining of difference of signals of reference and tested sensors. Diagnostics is performed without removing mass air flow sensor (3) from an automobile. Reference mass air flow sensor (7) is installed instead of an air filter. Sensors are connected as per a bridge diagram to measuring device (9). Measuring device (9) is installed in the passenger compartment. Readings of voltmeter (21) of measuring device (9) are observed in idle mode and during movement, thus ensuring rated rpm of crankshaft and rpm corresponding to maximum power mode, in intermediate ranges of speed and load. Relative evaluation of voltages from reference and tested sensors is performed as per readings of voltmeter (21), thus smoothly ensuring the increase in air supply by opening the throttle gate. Technical state of the tested sensor is determined as per signal difference of reference and tested sensors. Also, the invention describes the device used for implementation of the above method.
