EDUCAÇÃO A DISTÂNCIA: a qualidade de ensino e o perfil étnico-racial de egressos de uma IES na região metropolitana de Salvador/BA

This article has as its theme the Distance Education teacher and the connections existing in this area with some ethnic-racial aspects. The main objective of this study is to analyze and identify the skills and basic skills developed for vocational training and human pedagogue and the impacts of these qualities in the job market insertion of graduates of a Higher Education Institution located in Metropolitan Salvador (BA) in 2009. The study identified some specific abilities and skills developed through the course analyzed, while that found in the absence of further training of graduates, which, in their majority – about 84% –, are African descents. The study also demonstrated that the majority of graduates was absorbed by the marketplace. Despite this favorable impact, there is the low prestige of the professional educator of elementary education in the region where it was developed. It was also observed by the graduates some discomfort in their professional context, due to the mismatch between social and technological changes experienced by society and the type of training that they received in the Higher Education Institution.
