X-ray phase contrast computed tomographic elementary experiments under incoherent conditions

2008
Phase contrast imaging is one of up-to-date subjects in the X-ray imaging field. Grating-based phase contrast imaging method is the most promising method which can be applied to clinic diagnoses currently. A grating-based phase contrast computed tomography (CT) method under incoherent conditions is presented here. Moire deflectometry by use of projection of first absorption grating and the second absorption grating to measure differential phase shifts. The source grating is an option to be applied to improve the visibility of the projection of the first grating under the condition of the X-ray tube with big focal size. An elementary experimental phase contrast CT setup is built to validate this method. In conclusion, our method provides a feasible approach to practical application of phase contrast CT with conventional X-ray tubes.
