The positivist medical discourse considereds sexuality as an “energy” to be channeled productively. To prevent disease pathological and moral overflow, it established a “sexual science” in the areas of labor and education production. The medical of the passions was used as device of order, in categories of kind and class. The article discusses the models of gender imposed from the scientific and th liberal discourse, one as part of the processes of medical and “issues question” in Chile and Argentina (1860-1930). Analyzing the sexual, labor and educational models in the hygienists and eugenic discourse, as part of the debate concerning the construction of the “national-state” and the modernity.
