Strengths and weaknesses of family studies of high blood pressure

: Just because a study gives a clear answer does not mean that it asked a clear question. In asking why high blood pressure runs in some families but not in others, there is a need for clear study design, with careful definitions and selection of positive and negative family histories and a rigorous search for bias and confounding factors.
