Effect of Co-Trimoxazole on Faecal Enterobacteria: No Emergence of Resistant Strains

Summary During treatment with co-trimoxazole, enterobacteria disappeared from the faeces of 12 of 14 patients investigated. Strains resistant to co-trimoxazole or trimethoprim were not isolated from any of the patients during the entire investigation.
