Study on the Correlation between the Dosage of Pesticide and the kdr Allele Frequencies in the House Fly(Musca domestica)

2008
To monitor pesticide′s application in environment,we studied the correlation between the dosage of pesticide and the kdr allele frequencies in the House Fly(Musca domestica). The house fly populations were selected in lab with different dosages of deltamethrin by using bioassays, then frequencies of kdr mutation were measured by competitive polymerase chain reaction of specific allele(AS-PCR).The mutant frequencies of kdr allele from 3.33% of G1 increased to 91.67% in G9.Regression analysis indicated that there is a significant correlation between kdr allele frequencies and dosage of deltamethrin(R=0.98, P0.01). The results suggest that the change on kdr allele frequencies is probably a potential diagnostic tool to be used in monitoring deltametrin application in environment.
