Synthesis of NiCuZn ferrite powders by SHS method

Ni0.25Cu0.25Zn0.5Fe1.96O3.94 ferrite powders were prepared by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis method and subsequent heat-treated at 800℃, 850℃ and 900℃. The phase composition, microstruc-ture and the magnetic properties of the NiCuZn powders were investigated by XRD, SEM, TG-DSC and VSM. The results showed that NiCuZn ferrite powders with single spinel phase were formed after subsequent heat treating at 900 ℃. The coercive force, Hc and the maximum of saturation magnetization, Ms, of the NiCuZn powders are 72. 3Oe and 68. 34 emu/g, respectively.
