Looking through the ‘Magnifying Glass’: Term Maps of Intelligent Medical System

There are many supporting technologies in health care, one of those, that bares a great potential and is used almost in all areas of health care, are the so called intelligent medical systems (IMS). IMS can not only be applied to all areas of health care, but can also be used by all medical professionals to improve, confirm and simplify decision making. Research in health care has and continues to gain by exploiting different IMS using different approaches and areas of health care. However, there are many areas of scientific research in health care that can be improved using IMS, due to the complexity and wide spread information dispersion. One technology that we exploited for the purpose of knowledge discovery and detection of relations is bibliometrics. Bibliometrics basically helps us gain understanding through statistical analysis of scientific articles. By combining bibliometrics with visualisation tools we managed to draw certain conclusions that were based on our experience in the IMS field and the published literature.
