CHANGES AND SIGNIFICANE OF SERUM VEGF AND MMP-2 LEVEL OF COLORECTAL CANCER PATIENTS

2016
Objective:To investigate the changes and significance of the vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2) level in serum of colorectal cancer patients. Methods:Double antibody sandwich method was used to detect the serum VEGF and MMP-2 level of 72 colorectal cancer patients(before operation,3 months and1 year after operation),30 colorectal adenomas patients and healthy controls. Results:The serum VEGF and MMP-2 level of colorectal cancer patients before operation were obviously higher than that of colorectal adenomas patients and healthy controls(P0.05);3 months after operation, the serum VEGF and MMP-2 level of colorectal cancer patients were significantly lower than that before operation(P0.05),and had no statistical significance compared with healthy controls(P0.05).The serum VEGF and MMP-2 level of colorectal cancer patients were not related to age, sex, histological type, gross classification and tumour location(P0.05);but related to Dukes stage, differentiated degree, lymph node metastasis, depth of infiltration and tumour size(P0.05).1 year after operation, the serum VEGF and MMP-2 level of relapsed patients were obviously higher than that of no relapsed patients(P0.05).Conclusions:The serum VEGF and MMP-2 level may play important role in early diagnosis, severity assessment and prognostic evaluation of colorectal cancer.
