Direct Load Control Strategies and Optimization Scheduling of Thermostatically Controlled Loads

2015
Accurate modeling and using appropriate control strategies for scheduling of thermostatically controlled loads is the key to the successfull implementation of direct load control(DLC)programs. Physically based load model is adopted to characterize thermostatically controlled loads and Monte Carlo simulation method is used to obtain the normalised load by sampling in the range of values of parameters of the model. Customer override and equipment failure are considered and a DLC optimal scheduling model based on practical DLC control methods is proposed using an augmented max-min approach of fuzzy decision making theory. Numerical example shows that using the optimal schedul-ing model can not only get the given load reductions but also reduce the payback effect effectively, meanwhile, the overall comfort of DLC participants are less affected.
