The invention discloses a method for preparing a coating type V2O5-WO3-TiO2-SiO2 catalyst by a grout dipping method. The catalyst is prepared by taking cordierite honeycomb ceramics as a matrix, V2O5 as a main catalyst, WO3 as a cocatalyst, and TiO2 and SiO2 as a direct carrier, and adopting grout dipping, drying and calcining, and can be used for the selective catalytic reduction of diesel tail gas nitric oxide containing relatively high sulphur content at a high airspeed. The preparation method has the advantages that the process is simple, dipping grouting is formed by directly mixing active substances and the direct carrier, so that the loading times and the energy consumption in the production process can be greatly reduced; through acid treatment of the cordierite matrix, the specific surface area of the matrix is greatly increased, so that the dispersibility and the activity of a catalyst active substance on the surface of the matrix and the combined strength of a coating and the matrix are improved; and the prepared catalyst has relatively high catalytic activity, strong mechanical stability, sulphur resistance and hydrothermal stability.
