The invention relates to a power switch (100) for a battery system. The circuit breaker (100) includes a first port (104) and a second terminal (106), a control terminal (102) for receiving a drive signal (108), means (112) for determining a power switching signal (114) and a communication signal (116 ) using the driving signal (108), a power member (118) having at least one switch (122) for switching an electrical connection between the first terminal (104) and the second terminal (106) using the power switching signal (114) and a communication part (120) with at least one switch (124) for switching the electrical connection between the first terminal (104) and the second terminal (106) using the communication signal (116).
