Treatment of fractures of distal femur by retrograde intramedullary interlocking nail

2012
Objective To analyze the clinical effect of retrograde intramedullary interlocking nail and CPM for distal femoral fractures. Methods A retrospective study was carried out in 35 cases.Early CPM was began within 24h after operation. Results Thirty-five cases were followed up for 4 to 24 months,13 months on average. The time of bone healing was between 6 and 9 months.According to Kolmert criterion system, the knee function recovered well with excellent and good rate of 95%.Conclusion Retrograde intramedullary interlocking nails can ensure quick fractures healing and have fewer complication with simple procedures.CPM can be used early after operation. It is an optimal measure for fractures of distal femur
