Injectable nanocomposite hydrogel as wound dressing agent with tunable multifunctional property

2022
Abstract An injectable nanocomposite hydrogel with tunable multifunctional properties such as cell adhesive, antibacterial, and hemostasis, was developed. The nanocomposite hydrogel consisted of natural non-animal fungal mushroom-derived carboxymethyl chitosan (F-CMCS), and tannic acid stabilized silver (TA-Ag) nanoparticles. The hydrogel showed shear-thinning properties that could be injected for minimally invasive approaches. The hydrogels showed improved cell adhesion and spreading, hemostasis, and antibacterial activity. Thus, this multifunctional injectable hydrogel nanocomposite can be used as a potential wound dressing agent.
