Intramuscular hemangioma mimicking cubital tunnel syndrome: A case report

2016
Hemangioma-induced cubital tunnel syndrome is very rare. Only two cases have been previously reported. We report the case of an 18-year-old boy who had small distension in the left elbow region after exercise with symptoms and signs of cubital tunnel syndrome. Magnetic resonance imaging presented an intramuscular hemangioma on the medial epicondyle. The tumor disappeared during surgery, but after the tourniquet was released, the tumor refilled and then compressed the ulnar nerve. We performed a simple excision of the extra-neural hemangioma and covered it with fat to prevent scarring. No recurrence was observed. However, the vanishing property of the tumor should be considered during surgery.
