Experimental study on fatigue behavior of RC members strengthened with CFRP under overload ladder spectrum

In order to prove the fatigue property and reliability of reinforced concrete (RC) members strengthened with carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) in highway bridge under the vehicle overload, this paper focuses on a typical superstructure such as 20 m hollow slab simply supported beam bridge in highway of Guangzhou, define method of overload for vehicle loading was proposed,and the highway overload for vehicle loading was defined, a three steps ladder spectrum of the overload was generated. And then, the fatigue testing method of the RC members strengthened with CFRP using the ladder spectrum of the overload was proposed, and the fatigue tests of RC beams strengthened with carbon fiber laminate (CFL)were carried out successfully. The S - N curves and the fatigue equations were obtained.
