Nursing of venous access selection for one patient with lung cancer complicated with superior vena cava syndrome after radiotherapy and chemotherapy

Report 1 case of nursing experience for lung cancer patient complicated with superior vena cava syndrome after radiotherapy and chemotherapy with PICC catheter, who had reoccurrence of the superior vena cava syndrome thus leaded to PICC unplanned extubation. Analysis included the causes of superior vena cava syndrome, treatment methods and recommendations for the selection of the venous access after the treatment of superior vena cava syndrome. The lower limb vein of lung cancer patient with superior vena cava syndrome still needs to be treated after patient's recovering from superior vena cava syndrome. The evaluation of the catheter should be more cautious to avoid the occurrence of unplanned extubation.
