CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE: A PRELIMINARY STUDY IN QATARI FIRMS

This preliminary study explores the level of adoption of CSR activitiesin Qatari firms. Moreover, it examines the relationship between corporate socialresponsibility and organizational performance. The data gathered from Qataricompanies. In particular, data consisted of 38 completed questionnaires gatheredfrom managers who are in charge of CSR activities in the company. Descriptivestatistics provided. In addition, PLS software used in order to test the hypothesizedrelationship between CSR activities and organizational performance. The mainresults reveal that the average spending on CSR amongst the surveyed companiesis more than 1 million Qatari Riyals annually. Moreover, there are above averageemphasis on all CSR activities in the Qatari companies. Finally, as a preliminarystudy, the results of the direct relationship analysis indicated no significantrelationship for the relationship between all CSR activities and organizationalperformance, except for the CSR-government and organizational performancelink.
