PULSED LASER AND ELECTRON BEAM ANNEALING OF SILICON DIOXIDE LAYERS ON SILICON STRUCTURES

A study has been made of the pulsed annealing by laser and electron beam methods, of silicon covered with grown silicon oxide layers. A tentative explanation for the phenomenon of rippling is presented and attention is drawn to the consequences to device fabrication.
