A Novel Routing Based on OLSR for NDN-MANET

2020
LSA (Link State Advertisement) flooding is a common method to obtain network topology information during route establishment in NDN. However, LSA flooding often can cause broadcast storm in high-density MANET. Using a MPR (MultiPoint Relay) set proposed in OLSR can effectively reduce number of LSAs in the process of routing establishment. So, this solution can cut down of the impact of broadcast storm. NLSR, which uses synchronization protocol to propagate LSA and specially designed for NDN is not suitable for NDN-MANET. Based on OLSR and the design method of NLSR, a novel routing NOLSR is proposed for NDN-MANET. In NOLSR, a neighbor discovery protocol which can detect a unidirectional link to establish the MPR set is proposed. Only nodes in the MPR set will forward LSAs to obtain network topology and further establish the routing table for NDN-MANET nodes. Finally, a comparison analysis is performed between “Bread Crumb” routing in native NDN and NOLSR by simulation experiment in a NDN emulator mini-NDN.
