Special features of deformation of spherical panels under pulsating load

1989
1. It is shown numerically that after removing the inner pulse load the spherical shell performs high-amplitude vibrations. The viscosity forces have a considerable effect on the deformation of the structure. The beam calculation by different numerical schemes [3] gives deflections differing in the sign, probably because these schemes have a different approximation viscosity. In considering a loading of the type of [3], the effect of this viscosity can be quite considerable. 2. It is established that the structural elements under the effect of a pulse load can deflect against the load action even when the plastic properties of the material are not taken into account.
