Developing a self-assessment quality of life tool

The specialist nurse is in a prime position to provide holistic care and this care can be optimised by adequately addressing areas of a patient’s quality of life that are deficient. This article describes the development of a simple,quality of life assessment tool that allows treatment decisions to be based around patient selfassessment,in addition to the assessment made by the specialist nurse.
