Synthesis of novel oligocarboranesiloxanes

Abstract The transesterification conditions for the reaction of organotriethoxysilanes with ethylene glycol and bis-(hydroxymethyl)- o -carborane were found. Based on the obtained data, transesterification reactions of bis-triethoxypropylsiloxaneamide of m -carboranedicarboxylic acid with bis-(hydroxymethyl)- o -carborane, bis-(hydroxymethyl)- m -carborane and ethylene glycol were carried out. Using the methods of 1D- and 2D- NMR spectroscopy, GPC and mass spectroscopy, the structure of novel oligocarboranesiloxanes was established.
