The influence of trace amounts of nitrogen compounds on the achievement of future sulfur specifications in diesel fuels. Part 1 : HDS inhibition studies with model N-compounds : Meeting sulfur specifications for 2000 and beyond

2000
The need to produce extremely clean transportation fuels is continually increasing. Future standards are being set which cannot be achieved with existing process equipment. For example, processes that can now achieve sulfur levels of less than 500 ppm in diesel fuels can not be employed to lower the sulfur levels to less than 50 ppm S without very short cycles. Future sulfur specifications in Europe are being proposed to be as low as 10 ppm S.
