Neurotransmitters and their pharmacologic effects to vesical and urethral function are introduced in the following aspects: central nervous system, sympathetic and parasympathetic ganglions,peripheral efferent nerves,and afferent nerves. Clinical common used drugs are discussed in two categories according to the dual function of bladder (storage and empty), and recent progresses are also presented.
